Missoula Mayor Redesigns Iconic "M" to Spell Out Marxism

As the sun rose over Mount Sentinel Sunday morning it was revealed to Missoula that someone had added more letters to the iconic M. Missoula Mayor John Engen confirmed that he and some staffers were responsible for adding the letters to spell out marxism.

“We did it because we wanted to show that we support something!” Mayor Engen posted on social media Sunday morning. “I wanted to show that we are more left wing than any other city. Whitefish and Bozeman might think they are left wing but they can clearly see on our mountains that we are far left.”

Citizens of Missoula overwhelmingly approved of the art piece. Mayor Engen approval ratings have skyrocketed this morning according to a poll taken by the local paper.

One Missoula resident commented on the post, “Finally! I’ve been calling for the university and for the mayor to do something showing we don’t stand for capitalism here. THIS IS MISSOULA!”

Governor Bullock voiced his approval of Mount Sentinels redesign calling it "sick as hell".

“We do have plans to add letters to the L on Mount Jumbo” replied Mayor Engen on a facebook live Q & A Sunday. “We had the idea to make it say leftists, far left or liberals but could not come to a consensus therefore we decided to go with painting marxism instead. We are open to ideas from like minded individuals as to our next art project.”
